Buy 8th Grade Banquet Tickets Today!

Buy your tickets* for banquet today! Tickets are currently $55, and can be purchased via check in the office or on the PTO website by clicking on the “donations” button. Please consider adding $3 to the price of each ticket when purchasing online. This will help us cover the cost of credit card processing fees, ensuring that every dollar raised goes directly to funding the banquet.  Confidential scholarships are available by contacting Molly Orness in the Counseling Office. Our goal is 100% attendance!

Consider donating the cost of an extra ticket, or any amount you feel comfortable with. This special event is funded entirely by pre-paid ticket sales, and is supplemented by the generous donations of time, goods, and services by parents and community members.

*Students do not receive an actual ticket for the event, but every student that makes a “reservation” for the evening by paying for a ticket will be recorded, and their name will be on a check-in list at the door the night of Banquet.

Our theme is chosen and our decorating teams are off to a great start, but we still need plenty of additional help!  We’re still looking for someone to help us plan and cook the dinner that will served that night. If you or someone you know is interested in helping, please let us know ASAP!

There are also many additional ways in which you can help, in roles both large and small. We need artists, construction help, painters, waitstaff, chaperones, setup and cleanup crews, and so much more.  Look for Signup Geniuses to come in 2019.

Please email us for more information, and to sign up to help! It’s never too early to volunteer, and this event truly takes an army of supporters.

THANK YOU for supporting our 2018 Fallapalooza fundraising campaign. WMS students and families raised over $43,000 and 65% of Woodward families participated. It has been fantastic to see our community come together toward a goal and to surpass expectations. We had many small and large contributions, and exceeded our funding goal. Just as impressive, this year’s participation level was 15% higher than in the last several years – next year we hope it rises even higher! The funds raised will support Woodward students and staff during this current academic year. We appreciate your participation, whether it be through donation of money, time, or both.

We would also like to recognize and thank PTO Board members Faith Watson and Lee Muir for leading the campaign; Dani Stoehr, Kerry Lavigne and Scott Leaver for their technical support and expertise; WMS staff and administrators for their unrelenting support; and all of the parent volunteers who helped and donated, including the 40+ volunteers who made the Fallapalooza Fun Night Celebration a big success. Many thanks to That’s a Some Pizza for the generous discount on pizza served during our celebration, and a big shout out to Mr. Harris for being a great sport again this year – we hope your hair grows back quickly!

As a reminder, PTO accepts donations throughout the year. Also, it’s not too late to ask employers if they match donations. Please email Scott Leaver, WMS PTO Treasurer, if you have any questions about this ([email protected]).

Our WMS PTO website will be updated throughout the year with information regarding how the funds are being spent. Check in with us often about how you can volunteer this year or with any questions. Please don’t forget to like the WMS PTO Facebook to keep informed.

PTO Meeting: November 9th at  8:30am (early time this month only.). The meeting agenda includes discussing  teacher grants as well as hearing  from Deborah Rudnick about recycling efforts at WMS.  Immediately following the meeting, we will join the school Veteran’s Day Assembly at 9:30am.  PTO minutes can always be found on our WMS PTO website.

WMS PTO 2018-2019 at a Glance

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year at WMS!

Your support of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), through financial contributions and volunteer efforts, will help preserve WMS as a great place for kids, their families, and staff.  Your contribution to the PTO helps support our efforts in providing grants to teachers, emergency preparedness, staff appreciation efforts, and funds to the principal to cover small projects which are not paid for by the district.

Monthly Meetings – 2nd Friday of each month at 9:45am.

We have informative speakers at each meeting as well as teachers and administrators from the school.  This is a great place to get information about what is happening in the school and a place to be heard.   All WMS families are welcome.

We are an active group that relies on you as volunteers to assist the school with daily activities like homework club and special events like the Geography Bee that make WMS more positive and fun for our kids. The PTO volunteer coordinator will periodically send online sign ups to all Woodward Parents, as needs arise. If you want to know more about Volunteering at Woodward, click here

Fundraiser Information – FALLAPALOOZA, October 19, 2018

We only have one fundraiser during the school year. “One and Done” is our policy!  FALLAPALOOZA is a two week fundraiser where students collect donations from family and community members to raise funds for WMS.  Funds raised support teachers, students and school related programs during this school year. Our goal is to have every student participate and raise an average of $125.00.   Smaller as well as larger donations are appreciated and welcome. We know this can be difficult for some, while others contribute more, we only ask that you do what you can for our school. Contributions can be made online at our at our donation button. Checks can also be dropped at the PTO box at the school’s attendance office.

8th Grade Banquet

2019 will be the 61st annual 8th Grade Banquet!  We are pleased to have a committee already, and have scheduled the banquet for June 1, 2019.  This event is only for WMS 8th grade students. This year’s tickets will be $50 (the price will increase later in the year) and can be purchased online at our donation button.  Checks can also be dropped at the PTO box at the school’s attendance office.
